Friends of Thetford Forest (FoTF) Archaeology undertakes archaeological research, focusing on historic documents and heritage sites. FoTF Archaeology work with the Forestry Commission and with Norfolk and Suffolk Historic Environment Services and they give guidance and help with training.
2015 saw the group make a number of visits to site in and around the Forest, with clearance work being done at Ickburgh Wwarren Lodge and the installation of intereptation boards.
In 2016, Friends will begin a new initiative – caring for a number of archaeological sites across the Forest, making sure they are not being damaged by encroaching vegetation and that they can be viewed safely.
For more information, and details on how you can be involved, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with FoTF Archaeology in the subject.
