In 2006, and again in 2010, FoTF Conservation made repeat visits to the Goshawk Trail at MayDay during the installation and construction of two bird hide screens.
In 2006 the group underook clearance work at the proposed site and installed the first of the two bird hide screen installed by FoTF. This was part of a wider project to reopen the Goshaek Trail following its closure due to the felling of plantations in the area.
In 2010 the group once again returned to the Goshawk Trail to construct the second screen. This second screen was built from scratch by FoTF, unlike the earlier screen which had only been installed by the group. The construction of this second screen was a much more involved task, and involved the clearance of the proposed site; as well the construction of the screen. In 2016 FoTF Conservation once again returned to the Goshawk Trail to replace the now aging screen and replace it with a new screen
